The Petunia Petal Laboratories (or PPL for short) isn't all that it seems. Under a cheerful atmosphere full of smiling scientists -as they seem to advertise-, they are concealing a much darker secret.
In reality, the laboratories are searching for those who wield special abilities and powers that no one else has, as well as trying to give such to those who don't. They claim that all 'patients' are 'one of a kind' but that's the only thing they care about. Past their raw talents, these 'patients' are nothing but mere test subjects.
To those granted strange new powers are not out of the picture; many unwanted side effects sprout from forbidden powers.
To escape an endless cycle of testing and darkness is impossible... Or is it?

I guess I shall start off~ ^^ He had completely forgotten when the last time he had been outside, free and unbound to any certain place. He had also forgotten what it was like to be called by a name, and treated as an independently thinking individual instead of a number with only a few characteristics to set him apart from the others."Subject Number Thirty-One..." The brunette said quietly to himself as he traced the lines in the tiled floor with his foot. He was sitting on his bed, in a small locked room. It was practically a jail cell, for he was unable to leave as he pleased. Like a trapped bird... He thought briefly, sighing quietly. He was supposed to be sleeping, but his mind wouldn't allow him to rest."My name... My real name is Yosuke Hanamura, wasn't it? Such a long time since I heard it." Number Thirty-One flopped onto his back, frowning a little bit as his mind started to think about the next day. For sure it would consist of more tests and physical examinations. After all, that pretty much summed up every day he had been there. "It would be so much better if they'd at least let us talk to the others... Then it wouldn't be quite so lonely." After much tossing and turning, he finally passed into an uneasy sleep...• The next day •"Wake up, all test subjects! Today is another busy day! If you have been behaving well lately, you will be treated to a special surprise~! Have a nice day!"Number Thirty-One awoke to the same voice that was always heard on the intercom system. However, something that was mentioned piqued his interest. A 'special surprise'? He had learned that surprises were not usually good things, and especially not special ones. He was awfully suspicious.
There was a knock on his door; his escort was there to take him to wherever he was supposed to go to for the day. The man was wearing high tech, heavy armour to protect himself in case the subjects he escorted were to attack him. As if, The teen thought doubtfully as he followed him out. I'm not even half his size! Besides, it's not like I could do more than blow a breeze at him...After several minutes of walking through various hallways and doors, they arrived at a large gymnasium like room, which had a few other test subjects with their escorts. Thirty-One was confused. What's going on? We have never been in the same room as other test subjects!"Due to the results of from our psychologists, it has been recommended that you should learn to communicate with others." The voice said coolly over the speakers. "Although your escort will now leave you, keep in mind that this room is being monitored in every angle, with every exit watched. Do not try funny business. Also, fighting with the other subjects is strictly frowned upon. You shall be punished if you are found breaking any of the rules."After a couple of minutes, Thirty-One found himself alone in the room with the other subjects. And he felt utterly awkward. "Hello, everyone?"

| It was a strange feeling. To have an actual bed. A place to sleep. That she was allowed to sleep at all. Strange yet wonderful. And yet she would still prefer to be back at the other facility. Was she crazy? To want to return to deadly puzzles watched by a murderous AI?
Despite having nice commodities that she could not remember ever being exposed to in her life, this room was no better than a relaxation vault. Built on false pretenses and lies meant to comfort you while you sign your soul away to science.
She couldn't remember ever signing anything here. She couldn't remember coming here at all. It took effort just to remember that there had actually been another facility before this one. The lines blurred more each day. Was she forever doomed to be a test subject? Run by robots or people, she was still a lab rat.
Subject #042.
As she lay on her bed she ran over the facts once more to keep the memories intact. As much as she could anyway. She had a name, though neither facility had told her it and she couldn't remember. So for the time being she remained Subject Forty-two. The past facility had no people besides her. It was robots. But here was really no different since she never saw the other people. The way the escorts dressed they might as well be humanoid robots. Maybe they were.
Click. Bright. She covered her face with her arms as the lights came on in her room. Did they have to be so harsh? As always the lights were the signal to get up for the day and accompanied by the voice.
"Wake up, all test subjects! Today is another busy day! If you have been behaving well lately, you will be treated to a special surprise~! Have a nice day!"
The word surprise triggered a fading memory of confetti and an insult about being adopted.
That wasn't the normal message though. What could the surprise possibly be? She wasn't sure she wanted to find out. The usual knock on the door occurred and she got up just as it was opened. The escort stood back to let her follow him out but as she did she gave him a defiant glare. Just like normal he did nothing about it.
What hall was this? Her lab was the other way. Routine had engraved the route in her mind. This was not it. This was wrong. She slowed her pace and half-turned, intending to make a break for it. She did. Ten feet down the hall in the opposite direction the escort had caught her and was now holding her arm as he walked. Any struggle from her would break it. With his free hand the escort pushed open a door to a central AI chamber-like room and led her in, then let go. She gave him the glare again but he only stood there long enough to let another announcement play.
These people were other test subjects?
The escort left once it finished and she stood there. These were other people. People like her. Being tested on rather than doing the testing. Still, it was the facility's wish that she socialize. So she didn't. Subject Forty-two hung back from the group and silently watched.

| Wilson Percival Higgsbury, a scientist at the Petunia Petal Laboratories didn't look all that pleased. He was watching over one of the psychology department's tests, which involved a number of test subjects being placed into a room and told to socialise. Of course, as he had suspected, almost none of them decided to let out a peep.
"What did I tell them?" He muttered to himself. "It is a complete waste of time. There are far better tests and experiments to conduct than the effects of bonding with each other."
He took a sip of his tea as he continued watching the screen that was hooked up to a camera in the room. A small movement on the screen caught his eye. One of the test subjects had stepped forward and attempted a greeting. Wilson recalled them as being Number Thirty-One, a subject from the Currently In Progress Division, often referred to the CIPD. Glancing at his files, the teen was currently being tested on some abilities he had been given. So far, the new powers seemed to be functioning quite well, and the subject himself was still quite healthy. From what bits of attitude he showed, it wasn't surprising to the scientist that he had spoken up.
"But besides him, I doubt the others will interact much." Wilson sighed as he left the monitoring room to go to his office. He had been procrastinating for far too long, and it would not do well to put off his work any further. After all, it wouldn't sit well with him, being a strict and well disciplined scientist.
As he sat down at his small desk, rubbing his temples as his eyes scanned over the results from the last test he had conducted, a voice came on over his speaker phone.
"A test subject has been found to be missing. It is advised to stay calm as we work to locate them. We apologise for the inconvenience."
"Not another one... It seems to me that our security is getting worse and worse by the day. If we don't be more cautious, all of them will escape and chaos will break out." Wilson poured the last of his tea into the sink in the corner of his office. So much for a nice tea break.

| Met with silence and blank stares from the other test subjects, Thirty-One faltered. "...quiet crowd..." He smiled awkwardly. He briefly pondered if they understood him. Or if they simply didn't trust him enough to engage in conversation. Or if they had lost all social skills. Or maybe I'm just being too intimidating or awkward?
After thinking about the many possibilities, he attempted another approach. "I am Test Subject Number Thirty-One, but since that's a mouthful, you can call me Yosuke instead. It's a lot shorter, and probably easier to remember, considering we all have numbers." He offered, putting on the friendliest smile he could manage as he spoke. Maybe if I act inviting and show that I don't exactly approve of the laboratory's tests, maybe they will feel more comfortable with talking?
Still met with an empty silence, Thirty-One shook his head sadly. "Looks like we don't excel in socialising here..." Before he could say more, he was suddenly interrupted by another message.
"A test subject has been found to be missing. It is advised to stay calm as we work to locate them. We apologise for the inconvenience."
"Another one... Seems like everyone has been trying to escape more and more recently..." He murmured to himself. Because he was so used to being alone, he forgot that others could heard him if he spoke his thoughts aloud.

| Knock knock knock. He pushed a bookcase up against the door. "See? They can't get in now." The little girl smiled at him. Everything would be just fine. Except, where was his rose? The girl tilted her head as he patted down his jacket. "No need to worry, I'm just double-checking something." Knock knock knock. It was louder this time. The bookcase should have muffled it but it didn't. He also shouldn't have expected it too. Nothing made sense here. Where was his rose?! Knock knock knock. Even louder. The bookcase shook. They would be coming in any second. He stood in front of the little girl. He wouldn't let them get to her. Even if they had his rose. Knock knock knock. CRASH. "GET UP." What?
"GET UP." It was a voice through the door, but the door in his room. Oh. The escort. He sat up, placing a hand on his racing heart and trying to calm his breathing. Another nightmare... "I'll just be a second, sir!" Test Subject Nineteen slid off his bed and went over to the door, which was already open. His escort rarely spoke so they were clearly angry over something. Had he slept through the morning announcement again? That happened often.
Still a tad shaken but doing his best to not show it, Nineteen followed his escort out of the cell he called a room and down an unfamiliar hallway. Where were they going? It was for the better that he not ask questions when his escort wasn't pleased with him, yet he still wanted to know.
He found out when he was led to a large room full of other people. An announcement went off and for the first time in quite a while he found himself cracking a small smile. Getting to talk to others in the same situation would be a nice change of pace. Yet once his escort left him with the other subjects he froze up. He could probably talk to a child, he was certainly good at it in the recurring nightmares, but speaking to these people would be challenging. There wasn't really much to talk about.
Nineteen stayed with the main group but remained quiet as he racked his brain with ideas for how to start a conversation and what it could be about. Then someone spoke up. The teen was met with silence but kept talking. Good resolve. He was going to reply when another announcement came on.
"A test subject has been found to be missing. It is advised to stay calm as we work to locate them. We apologise for the inconvenience."
Thirty-One seemed to be thinking the same thing he was. That announcement had played quite frequently as of late. "I hesitate to say they have the right idea, but wouldn't it be nice to go outside?"

| Relieved that someone had finally responded to him, Thirty-One nodded. His cheery smile slowly adopted a sad edge to it. "I have tried to imagine life outside these walls for so long... What it'd be like to be free, allowed to do things independently without being told what to do. It sounds almost like a dream. A dream that is impossible to reach."He took a moment to look around the room at each and every test subject before turning his gaze to the cold, white ceiling above them. "I can't blame them for trying to escape. I often consider it myself, but I shudder to think what happens to those who disobey. And I wonder what happens when they're finished with us. Will they let us free, or get rid of us in a dark, quick end?Though I hope for the former, I'm also not entirely sure about it. Society isn't always accepting of strange people with even stranger powers... But still, I think that being outside and finally out of here would be better than constant tests and experiments."He paused for a few seconds, realising that what he was saying probably sounded like mumbling rambles to the other subjects. "O-of course, that's just my personal feelings... I wouldn't be surprised if any of you thought differently."Before he could say more, he was interrupted by another message on the intercom."The test subject has been found and located. The northern entrance area is now back open for people to go about their business. Thank you for your business.""...they nearly got out. But then, the entrances are pretty heavily guarded. They wouldn't have made it that far." Thirty-One said quietly. "...but there's got to be another way..."- OOC:

| She frowned at the announcement. Another failure. But really, what were they thinking, trying the entrance? The front door is never the escape route. Thirty-One's words received a nod from her. He was right. There was always a way out. You just had to keep trying. Always keep trying. He was also right in that they might all be killed off at the end of the tests. It wouldn't surprise her if they went that route.
The floor was cold but she barely noticed and definitely didn't care when she sat down on it. There was no point in caring about something so inconsequential as a slight temperature drop.
Still she was silent, her only contribution to the conversation being her nods at Thirty-One's opinion, even if he might not have seen them. So she might socialize with gestures but there was still no chance she was going to speak. Forty-Two would keep her resolve from the last facility. She would never give those watching her the satisfaction of a response.
Her gaze shifted from test subject to test subject, taking in the variety among the group. So far only one other person had spoken. Another boy. She didn't know his number. Then she looked at the ceiling. There was nothing there. What was Thirty-One looking at? After staring for a moment she brought her eyes back to the group.
Were they only going to talk? Now would be a great time to formulate an escape plan. Though they would have to do it in a away the people behind the cameras wouldn't recognize...
She mimed writing on something.

| Nineteen put his hands in his pockets and listened to Thirty-One's --no, Yosuke's-- words. The other was quiet when he said them, but it felt good to hear them spoken. In a way it was a confirmation that he wasn't the only one who felt that way.
He'd often thought of running away into the oil painting of a grassy knoll he'd seen near an office in the east wing hall. It would be just like outside. And every time this idea crossed his mind he reminded himself that world was fake and that he wanted to return to the real one.
"All of us were living that dream of outside at some point in our lives. I'm certain we'll return to it somehow." It was a wonder how anyone could look so happy in the current situation but Nineteen was doing a marvelous job. Even the announcement had only darkened his mood for a few seconds when he had sighed. They had come so close.
"...but there's got to be another way..."
"Perhaps if we work together?"All of the almost-escapees had attempted it solo. Teamwork could move mountains couldn't it? "In the mean time it truly is a pleasure meeting all of you. I'm Subject Nineteen but my name is Garry."
On the floor a girl making strange gestures caught his attention. What was she doing? He watched her repeat the gesture several times before he finally understood it."Oh! Writing! Did anyone sneak some paper in?"

| Subject Number 64:
A man that appeared in his late thirties, early forties sat alone. The room he occupied was dull. The walls were grey, the floor was a uniform tile pattern like the rest of the establishment, and the bed he sat on, well, let's just say he'd prefer the floor. The whole place lacked color, and the artificial glow of the ceiling light was no help. There were no windows, and the vents were small. It was pretty much a cave.
The man sat slouching back against the wall, the bricks panted grey were cold against his nape. There was little light in his eyes. Despite his youthful physique, his face had a tired and old look to it. He was at this place as a 'patient.' It was much more like a lab rat in a jail cell. After a while it became impossible to tell the time of day, and even the day of the week or month became meaningless drivel that was unknown. He's never even seen another person undergoing the same endless misery as he was. There was an endless cycle of sleeping, eating, and tests. And the most dehumanizing part of it all?
Subject Number 64.
That was what the 'scientists' called him. He hadn't heard his name in ages, and he knew how long ages could be. "Captain... Jack... Harkness..." He spoke the name he had used for so long with a hoarse voice. It wasn't his own name, but it was better than 'Number 64.' His real name had been long forgotten. And while he longed to be known as a person rather than a number, the idea of hearing the name he was born with almost scared him.
Number 64 also longed for being free out in space, away from daily tests and monotone jail cells. The tests performed on him were not like drug tests that someone takes for thirty days and report back. They were cruel, and all together miserable. Every day they beat him to death, quite literally. After being discovered waking up from four bullets to the chest, he blacked out again and found himself in this hell-hole. There they discovered his 'talent' as they put it. Number 64 was immortal. He would temporarily die from lethal wounds and means, and come back gasping for air. His immune system was something to be awestruck at; not once did he get sick. The scientists tried many means to kill him. They injected toxins, viruses, and poisons into his system, only to watch him writhe in pain before dropping dead and popping back up. Shooting, cutting, blunt forces, drowning, and hanging were all tried. Once they even attempted to remove a kidney for further study of his cells, but once they opened him up, he closed back up.
While a wound or illness never remained, Number 64 could feel it all, every cut of a blade, every nerve shutting down from paralysis, every breathe of air getting choked out of him. The moment he was brought to PPL was the worst of his whole long life. "Come on... I've been in worse." He tried to convince himself that it had to be better than something else. And out of all honesty, he'd rather be exterminated by a Dalek for good than live this experience out. Maybe even a little longer at the facility he might even consider living as a Dalek better than dying as Human for ever.
After the announcement clicked off, Number 64 waited for his escort. Well, speak of the devil and he shall come because not a moment later the familiar knock came. He was ready to be guided to a lab to be strapped down and mutilated some more. Instead he was nudged in the direction opposite of his normal routine. He didn't always go to the same room, when injected with something he was taken to a room that looked like an evil OR, if he's shot or cut up the room would have some sort of tarp to clean up afterwards. His stomach knotted up as he wondered what other form of death they could come up with; did it have to do with this 'special surprise?'
He didn't want to find out. Instead he bolted down the familiar hall, and quickly around corner after corner. He knew it'd be damn near impossible to escape on his own. But since he's been dying day after day, what was there to loose? Despite the labyrinth like corridors, Number 64 had a feeling he was getting close to an exit. Especially after another announcement came on asking people to remain calm while they look for him.
After turning another corner the wind was knocked out of him. Number 64 had to take a moment to adjust to that, and that was all the security man he ran into needed to send him unconscious.- ooc:
Cliffhanger~! Sorry for the randomly long post that has nothing to do with the other characters. My muse was ready to beat me up if I didn't

Not Jaaaaaaack D: Well I guess we know who tried to escape now :P Yosuke considered Garry's words for a few moments. "Yes, if we all work together, I bet we'll be able to accomplish something." For once, there was a glimmer of hope in the teen's eyes as his mind busily went to work, trying to work out any ideas. As he thought, something caught his eye. A girl was sitting on the ground, and was doing some action with her hands. Like she was writing something.
As he tried to piece together the gesture, he heard Garry say, "Oh! Writing! Did anyone sneak some paper in?" The question somehow made Yosuke smile. Though the scientists were smart, they never thought twice about giving strange powers to a teenager who could potentially cause a bit of mischief. Especially if that power granted them extreme speed.
He pulled out a small pad of sticky notes and a stumpy, chewed up pencil. "I guess we're in luck, then. I happened to nab a couple things when I walked by the head office a couple weeks ago. Thought it could come in handy someday." He explained. "Of course, there was another reason, but it doesn't matter." I wanted to see if they would notice it missing and if I'd get in trouble. And I didn't!"Anyways, does anyone have any ideas to start off with? And does anyone here have neat handwriting? My printing is pretty messy."- OOC:
Bit of a short post, but then there wasn't very much to write here ^^;;

| No asking, not even an indication that she wanted to use them, Forty-Two shot up and grabbed the pad and pencil out of Thirty-One's hands and sat back down to scribble something.
The pencil was held completely wrong. The paper almost tore when she dragged it across. The handwriting? Just barely legible. There were words all right but it would take a lot of effort to read them.
She barely remembered what certain letters were supposed to look like, and hadn't tried writing any of them them for so long that her attempts only vaguely resembled the real thing. This was not helped by the fact that she held the pencil in a fist and used far too much force. At least an attempt had been made. An attempt that was rather good. To her anyway. She was proud of herself. She still knew how to write. That was an accomplishment after all she'd been through, that she could still write words. Even if they weren't easy to read.
Once finished she stood back and and returned the supplies to Thirty-One along with what she had written. It was a good idea. It had helped her back at the old facility.- OOC:
I know it's short but she didn't have much to do and when she's focused there isn't much inner monologue. Also poor Jack...

| Though surprised at the girl's action, Yosuke was glad to see someone had an idea on how to get them out of there. Once he was handed back his things, he eagerly looked at the note. And I thought I had messy handwriting... Was his first thought, but he figured trying to decipher her symbols would be far more important than how illegible they were. He looked them over several times, trying to work them out. Although he had had education in the past, he couldn't quite figure out exactly what the symbols were. Perhaps he had been sleeping too much in class...?The first one looks like an 'A' of some sort. The third looks like a lower case 'r'. Not sure about the fourth, but it definitely looks like a check mark. The six resembles a house of sorts. That plus sign has to mean 'and', right? That last symbol looks a lot like a '2', or maybe a backwards 'S'."He glanced over at the girl. "This, uh, certainly looks like an interesting idea." He said before turning to Garry. "Dude, could you help me out a little here? I'm not the greatest at, er, reading things." He asked, an apologetic grin finding its way onto his face. Isn't communication one of the most important parts of teamwork? Hopefully he has some idea what she's trying to say...- OOC:
Hope it's acceptable to use Yosuke's name instead of his number, since he introduced himself :P
Also, Jack, I'll try to get you into the action unless you have your own idea? :3

| Garry walked closer to Yosuke and leaned over the note he was holding to read it. He could read signatures so maybe he could read this? Oh. Well he could certainly try. Messy handwriting was something they would have to overcome if they wanted to work together, though he did wish the girl would speak. Teamwork would be much easier if she spoke her ideas, but he understood that she must have her own reasons for keeping silent. It was not his place to ask."It appears to be an A, followed by something I'm not sure of, then an R. The second word is more difficult. Maybe the check mark is a V?" Blue eyes scanned over the note several times more. The A and R were evidence that these were supposed to be letters rather than symbols. So what letter did each symbol resemble most? "If we can figure out the first word the second should come more easily. Between the A and R is a line with a dot. These are letters so..." he said aloud, more talking to himself than anyone else. It was a great help to his thought process to voice it. It was also a habit that made him feel less alone. Sometimes even if he wasn't trying to figure something out he would talk to himself.
The solution finally hit him, like a paint splatter to the face. "It's an I! The dot has just been moved. A, i, r. That makes air." Another time reading the note. Could he puzzle out the rest? "The second word starts with a V and ends with an S. That plus could be a T." With a shrug Garry stepped back. "I'm unsure of the other two letters."- OOC:
Don't see why not. I'm doing the same for Garry. Also I suck. My posts are still short. Length, come back to me!

On mobile, the posts look pretty long, if that's reassuring XDD As Garry deciphered the note out loud, a thought suddenly came across Yosuke's mind. The symbols are incomplete or slightly incorrect letters...! Then that must mean that the one beside the 'V' is an 'E', and the next is an 'N'! That spells out... He excitedly scribbled out the letters beneath. The note now read 'Air Vents'. "Oh, I walk by the maintenance room everyday! There's an entrance to the vents in it. It's so the repair crew can access them easily if needed. Every time I see it, there's no security around it at all." Words seemed to pour out of his mouth as he grew more and more ecstatic.
He soon realised that he was probably losing some people with his fast talking, so he decided to slow down a bit. Flipping to a new sticky note, he began writing down some notes about what could potentially be their plan. "From what places I've seen, and occasional maps, this facility is pretty huge. It has various testing rooms, science labs, offices, cafeterias, holding cells and probably some more I don't even know about. And that means that the vent system has got to be fairly complex. It will be easy to get lost, to say the very least." Adding 'obtain map' to the list, he continued on. "Another thing we must be wary of is any of the staff or security. And when the time of attack will be. If it's not planned our correctly with all things taken into account, then there could be very harsh consequences, and the entire place will get paranoid. They'd add even more security. I heard some gossip from one of the scientists that their current security's really bad. This could work in our favour."A mischievous grin grew on the brunette's face. "Cruel as they may be, they have certainly overlooked some little itty bitty factor. If you have a large amount of test subjects with abnormal abilities, it tends to be a little dangerous, don't you think? At the full extent of some of our powers, I'm sure even the strongest security guy here would at least falter. And if we all worked together and got out of here in various ways, they wouldn't be able to catch us all, could they? Plus, if we could get word out about this place, we could stop them for good."He paused for a few moments. "I'm not going too fast for you guys, am I?"

| Her handwriting couldn't possibly be that bad! Taking a minute to read it she expected, but this? Forty-Two would really have to practice her penmanship when she got out of here. When the two boys managed to decipher her note she breathed a sigh of relief. Good. They understood her.
And had a plan started! Thirty-One had, wait, hadn't he introduced himself? Yes. Yosuke. Weird name. He had a good idea started though. Her normally passive expression twisted into a smirk. No security at the air vents? They were slacking. This would be as easy as it was last time.
Or it would be if she'd still had her portal gun. That had been lost in the past facility. Or was it this facility? Which one had the explosion that tor out part of the roof? Well, these people were equipped with special abilities of their own. Working with them should make up for the lack of the device.
She stood up and stretched, this time remaining standing with the group. This place was huge? No big deal. She'd escaped larger. She made sure her standing spot was next to Yosuke. Her way it saying whatever the plan turned out to be, she was in.
But they would need a map. Last time it had taken her days to navigate the maintenance areas. Or had it been weeks? She couldn't remember. This time around a map was necessary.
Elbowing Yosuke in the ribs, Forty-Two again mimed something. Holding a flat object. Looking at it. Looking back up. Pointing off in a random direction.

| "Gack!" Unprepared for the sudden sharp jab to his chest, Yosuke yelped before covering his mouth. In the complete silence of the room, it was extremely awkward. Embarrassing as it was, it somehow brought back memories. Faint as they were, he could recall times when he hung out with his friends and blurting out some not so wise comments, only to be responded to with a swift kick or slap. The memories seemed bittersweet now.
He looked over at the girl, who seemed to want his attention. Watching her gestures carefully, he soon realised what she was trying to say. "A map? Of course. Usually most of the staff members have one on them, if I can remember. It should be easy enough to swipe at least one of them. I mean, they don't seem to check their pockets often or be careful around the majority of test subjects. Well, the ones that behave. Or pretend to behave."
The same confidence flashed in his eyes before he continued. "I'm not exactly certain about these 'socialising sessions', but if they're anything like the other tests, I'm sure we'll be meeting up quite a bit." He said as a clock in the corner of the room caught his eye. It was nearly eight o'clock, which was the mandatory breakfast time for all test subjects. "In the meantime, try to think of some ideas, okay?"
Moments after he had finished speaking, a bell rang and the doors opened, revealing the test subjects' escorts. Nodding a brief farewell to the others as he shoved his note pad and pencil into his pocket, he made his way to his own escort, who looked as stiff as ever. He was lead back to his cell -which was really called something else that he didn't bother to remember- where he was given a plate of cold toast and some strange liquid that resembled orange juice, or so he thought. It didn't look safe to drink, that was for sure.
As he munched on the slightly burnt toast, he contemplated what they had talked about, and their plans. Could they really finally get out of this place for good? The thought of it truly excited him; he was beginning to grow tired of being a science experiment.
Exactly thirty minutes later, another bell rang, and Thirty-One returned to his daily routine as a test subject.

| No, not the bell! He wasn't ready to leave his new friends yet. He'd only just met them. Did they have to be separated so soon? "I'd rather not split up." a voice echoed in his head. He waved goodbye to the others and met up with his escort. The walk back to his room was routine and he used to the time to try and place the voice. There was a meaning behind it that he didn't understand but it chilled him nonetheless.
Once back in his cell of a room he was given breakfast. It seemed to rival what he knew of prison food in inedible-ness so he left it alone. He could get back the edible food he'd hidden with 'Fading Spirit of Seasons' later. He would have to give her a nickname because that nameplate was a mouthful. Half an hour until today's tests left Garry with enough time to think about what he'd learned today.
It would be possible to escape if they all worked together. The air vents were a good start, but someone needed to take a map from the staff before they could get started. That wouldn't be hard to manage. From there... From there they would escape. "We WILL get out! I promise!" That voice chilled him even more. It was his own. Had he been trapped somewhere before?
Before he knew it the next bell rang and he was dragged off to his daily testing, which mainly consisted of random paintings being brought in and him being instructed to "Jump into this one." and "Talk to this one and report what she says." and "Take the object in this one." When he couldn't do as asked... It was painful.
This session went better than most. Until one painting was brought in. A brown-haired woman in a blue dress, on a matte black canvas. Garry shrieked and ran to the corner of the lab, where he pressed himself against the wall and began screaming about, "Y-You can't have my rose!"

| For Yosuke, his tests consisted of several physical assessments. His breathing and his heart rate were measured as he sped through the obstacle course, avoiding objects, leaping over fences and going through hoops. His exact speed was also calculated, he knew. He had done enough testing to know what they were looking at when they drilled him. From the sound of it, they weren't testing him on anything new in his speed, besides the obvious consistency area. Surely by the thousands of times I've ran, they'd have pretty consistent data, wouldn't they? Before the teen's next task, there was a brief announcement over the speakers. "A test subject is having a negative reaction. For your safety please avoid Lab 12D in the East Wing while they are dealt with. Thank you for your cooperation." Yosuke wondered what was wrong. He only knew Lab 12D was one of the Physically Enhanced Division's, but that was it. He hoped no one he had met was there. He hadn't asked them what division they were..."Subject Thirty-One, please lift the objects."The strict, icy voice of the scientist brought him back to earth. The objects laid out on the steel table before him were random items like spoons, fake flowers, rulers, small boxes and other things. He stared blankly at them for a few moments before taking a deep breath and concentrating. A strong wind could be felt throughout the room; Yosuke's hair was being blown across his face, and if the scientist had any hair, it would have down the same. All of the objects flew up into the air instantly. Once the scientist had written down the results, he instructed him to place them back down on the table, which he did.The next test was another obstacle course, but this one was a fake grassy field that reminded him of something. Probably the world outside, but unlike here, the grass was real and not artificial. If only I could just run out of here... They wouldn't be able to catch me, would they? He thought sadly as he ran. But then... I wouldn't want to leave the others behind. Besides, they could still catch me in other ways than by matching my speed. What am I thinking? I'm just getting as restless as those other test subjects!Absorbed in his thoughts, Yosuke momentarily stopped paying attention to what he had been doing."Test Subject Number Thirty-One in Test Chamber 9B, Southern Wing requires medical assistance." The cool voice came on over the system. Injuries were rather common at the Laboratories, so almost everyone who wasn't a part of the medical team ignored them. In most cases, the subject could be easily healed in almost no time, but it depended on what kind of injury it was. And usually, running into a solid blockade at high speeds wasn't very safe for the human body...- OOC:

Yosuke! *sigh* Not paying attention can do more than harm your grades. Hope he's okay. Forty-Two followed her escort back without complaint, and did the same to the testing track thirty minutes later. She knew not to fight back until the time was right. The tests were simple. Nothing compared to the old place. Yet she would prefer the deadly puzzles over these.
"Subject Forty-Two, dodge." That was the only warning before the wall fired pellets at her. They weren't bullets but they would sting like hell if she got hit. Some of them would tear skin at the right angles, but this machine had nothing on turrets. Stealing a glance at the observation window shows her several scientists recording her results as always. Didn't they have enough data by now? No. With people like them there was always more testing. The test was paused for an announcement."A test subject is having a negative reaction. For your safety please avoid Lab 12D in the East Wing while they are dealt with. Thank you for your cooperation."Hopefully that wasn't one of the people she'd met. "Subject Forty-Two, Again." The test went smoothly once more, then they switched to measure her other abilities. How much detail could she make out in faraway objects? How fast did her blood clot if she was cut? That last one hurt. But she'd been through worse."Test Subject Number Thirty-One in Test Chamber 9B, Southern Wing requires medical assistance."Thirty-One? That was the talkative boy! Medical assistance? What happened? Before she even had time to piece together a theory the speakers came on again."Test Subject Number Nineteen in Lab 12D has been dealt with. Thank you for your patience. The lab observation room is now open again."Nineteen? So that first announcement had been someone she knew. They weren't supposed to cause a commotion yet! That wasn't the plan! Maybe it wasn't good to work with these people. No that was a bad way to think. Requiring medical assistance was not something you do on purpose unless it's a last-ditch move. Thirty-One had an accident. Nineteen... She'd find out when they met up again. If they met up again."Subject Forty-two. Continue."Right. Back to testing.
